David and Abe's cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats

David and Abe are planning to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats (about 950 miles) starting May 18th and cycling between 75 and 100 miles a day for almost 2 weeks. This is not easy and will be a real achievement for both of us. 75 miles on its own seems like a long way in a day but repeating this every day is daunting!
David: Last year I was planning to get properly fit again, including spending more time on my bike, when I had a heart attack. At 47 without any significant risks and reasonably fit this was a big surprise (and shock). My heart has been repaired with a stent and I have now reached my goal of getting fit and healthy (it feels good!). Being able to do this cycle 6 months after my heart attack means a lot to me and I hope will show others that it is not too late to look after your health (and your heart).
We are raising money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) which we have supported for some time through the London to Brighton bike ride. We are also raising money for Sports Relief. The money will be split 50% BHF and 50% Sport Relief. As an added incentive for you to be generous your donation will be matched by the Holloway Charitable Trust which combined with gift aid means your donation will go a long way so please give what you can.
If you want to use a CAF cheque (or a normal cheque) you can by sending to David made payable to the British Heart Foundation. Please email david@holloway.me.uk for the address if you need it.
More on our cycle ride will be posted on www.lejog4bhf.com.
All the best and thanks,
David Holloway and Abe Sharp
