I DID IT!!
A fantastic event on Sunday with a great bunch of people (422 in my wave alone which went off at 14.10). A nervy pre start - well what do you expect next to 400 other guys all in rubber!) and as advised I kept at the back before the gun so as to reduce the amount of barging/kicking and flailing arms that inevitably goes on with so many swimming in such a big group. Once we started however it settled down and then it was just getting through the swim and then onto the bike and the end run. To cut to the chase, I completed the event in around 2 hours and 40 minutes, which was half an hour quicker than I had hoped for. Official times are out this week, but I've got the gong so I know I did it. A big thank you to those who have ( and those who are yet to!) sponsor me. With the online donations and pledged money I'm over my target but would like to make the website target before the site closes in a couple of months.
Keep giving.
Cheers
