LBA Club Night/Charity Wine Tasting Event
Tuesday 26 March 2013
17.30 - 20.00
Hosts: Kingston Smith, 141 Wardour Street, London, W W1F OUT
LBA Club nights usually focus on themes related to our angel investments. This meeting will be a social event, where you can get to know your fellow club members over a few glasses of wine. LBA member Nathan Hill (who is a wine expert) will guide us through a tasting of wines from Chile and Argentina, countries he visited on a wine tour in February and March 2012
This LBA Club night will be held at one of our corporate sponsors' premises in central London and we are grateful to them for their provision of the venue and food. London Business Angels has sponsored the wine.
The wines of Chile and Argentina offer great value for money and variety of tastes. At about 33 degrees South, the climates vary from cool to pretty hot. With the slopes of the Andes offering some of the most favourable growing areas, this region is home to some of the world's highest altitude vineyards. Winemaking is modern and well invested, with French, US and Australian methods predominating. In this tasting, we'll try a number of white and red wines.
Whilst this event is a charity club night meaning that there is no obligation to pay, we aim to raise over £2000 for our chosen charity “Shelter From the Storm,” and as such welcome all voluntary donations from attendees (the suggested donation being £40). Donations will also be eligible for Gift Aid and every penny donated will go to the charity.
Shelter from the Storm (SFTS) is London’s only free homeless shelter. Located in North London, its operates seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, providing in excess of 13k bed, breakfast and overnight accommodation places and doesn’t receive a penny from the government. A £10 donation buys a bed for a night for a homeless person.
Register for the event by emailing Alexander Sleigh (alexander.s@angelcapital.co.uk) and please visit www.justgiving.com/lba to make your voluntary donation to support SFTS
