Story

In July 1996 my mum and dad was faced with any parents worst nightmare after many trips to doctors and being prescribed antibiotics for 'infections' bulging eye, tiredness, lack of appetite, fever etc my mum had had enough her local gp Dr Irfan had been away in Pakistan for 8 weeks and had just returned to our surgery and after what seemed like forever somebody was finally listening to her and had said he'd seen these symptoms before and told her to take me to a&e and demanded more tests, within hours we was sent to st Mary's hospital in Manchester to be then told they thought I had a Rabdomysercoma tumour and I didn't have much chance of living, within 24 hours we had been to a&e, st Mary's Manchester and then the Royal eye hospital of Manchester where a biopsy was taken of whatever ( unknown at the time) was behind my eye, we was then taken to Pendlebury Royal Manchester Children's Hospital onto the borchardt ward where a nice called Joanne cared for me where what seemed a life time for my parents I spent just short of 12 months there, my mum explained the waiting as horrific until one doctor came to see me Professor Tim Eden, this man saved my life he had never seen anything of the sort as it was a very very rare tumour in after a few months I was finally diagnosed correctly with ' Langerhans Cell Histiocitosis with Rosai Dorfman syndrome Present. I was given a Hickman line ( my petrol station) and started my treatment with Vinblastin chemotherapy and steroids, which then led to two blood transfusions and another biopsy numerous MRI and CT scans as nobody had ever heard or seen the two different types combined, not once did this man give up on finding a cure for me not once did he just write me off and stop his efforts in findings or give my case to somebody else he promised my mum and dad he would do the very best he could and would treat me to the best of his ability, there's not many things I remember about being poorly as I was only 2 years old I don't remember the pain or the bad times what I do remember are the good times and the happy memories, I was taken to Lapland with the hospital and the other sick children and plenty of other places for me and my family as they did a lot to keep the other children at home happy and made sure they knew they was still cared for and thought of after my mum and dad being away from home my mum had to leave her job and people rallied together to look after my 4 other siblings at home Amy, Rosie, Jacquline and Richard the oldest being possibly younger than 13, I remember my dad never leaving my side even right to the blue coloured LED jacket he had to wear at MRI scans and CT scans or the hats we wore from paper bowls the laughs and sillyness especially when my mum just needed 5 minutes to pull herself back together after being on a ward full of very sick and some terminally ill children slowly I imagine takes its toll on you, I was seen so many times but one doctor who always made sure he was the man who dealt with me was professor Tim Eden if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here 20 years later with my family a my 1 year old son and boyfriend Chris he's done so much through his career and one thing close to his heart is other children who unlike me don't get the medicine, pain relief and help and support they need which is why this charity is so important no baby, child or teen should have to suffer the pain of this illness 'cancer' before they've even had chance to live every single day we have doctors 24hrs a day ready to save lives, treat people, prescribe medicines and pain relief these children have absolutely nothing this is man who I have so much greatfulness and gratitude towards and just being able to raise some money and donate it towards a cause he is so passionate about makes me feel like I'm giving just a little something back! So please even if it's just a pound please dig deep and help me raise this money just £50 can give a child chemotherapy that they need, that could save a child's life, every child matters and deserves the same treatment I received and many more children. Me and Taome will be climbing the 3 highest mountains in Britain ( three peak challenge) in 36hours and all money made I'll be donated to the above charity please please please dig Deep and help us, we have until July 8th 2016 to raise £3000 and with all your help it's possible please even if you don't want to donate help is buy sharing, this hike isn't just for children who don't get the treatment but for every single child in the world who is suffering with cancer or who has lost their life to cancer or who has beaten it and is once again healthy! We will be thinking of you all! Thankyou so much for reading, donating and sharing
