Story
Hello everyone,
I am doing the London Marathon for the second time (the first was in 2006 4.13). I recently started work for Macmillan as the community fundraiser for Kent and they are a great charity doing great things at a local and national level.
Macmillan Cancer Support is working with Medway NHS Trust to build a new Macmillan Cancer Care Unit for local people at Medway Maritime Hospital. It will mean cancer patients will receive chemotherapy in their local hospital and existing haematology patients will be cared for in a bright, purpose built ward.
Every contribution counts!
* £5 could pay for leaflets about cancer for a family to take home]
* £144 could fund a Macmillan nurse for one day
* £106 could fund a Cancer Information and Support Services Manager for one day
I have recently started training and am enjoying it - even if I am getting a lot of funny looks with my beanie hat, gloves, and lycra leggings out on the pavements of Kent!
Thanks to everyone
Laura xx
