Story
On Sunday 26th April 2009, we successfully completed the Flora London Marathon! The sun came out which made running conditions tough at times, but with thousands of spectators lining the route all the way from Greenwich to The Mall including over 40 of our family and friends, we had one of the most inspiring and unforgettable days of our lives. The incredible atmosphere, together with Nick's picture on the back of our vests kept us going and we completed the course in 6 hours 2 minutes.
Thank you to everyone for your support, both financially and emotionally, which made it possible for us to get to the start line and the finish line. The entire experience, from running to training to fundraising has been so memorable and one that will stay with us forever. We are now suffering with major post-marathon blues and yes we are even considering if one day in the future we will be able to do it all over again!? Never say never!
We ran the London Marathon in memory of Laura's special brother Nick, who tragically died 4 years ago in a climbing accident in Nicaragua. We are so proud and honoured to have run the race in his memory and to continue to raise as much money as we can in his honour for Children in Crisis.
Our fundraising page is open for 3 months from the day of the marathon, so any further donations will be gratefully received and further help the amazing projects that Children in Crisis are involved with.
Once again, thank you everyone for your support and for helping us fulfil our dream :)
