Story
Hello friends & family,
Much to your surprise, I am running the Nike 'run to the beat' half marathon in East London on the 25th September, less than two weeks away! I started running as a new years resolution and decided to challenge myself to a half marathon (after only running 3miles) in the hope to raise some money for a wonderful charity.
So now, two weeks to go, 9 miles later - I am asking for donations for the Nice Kids Home, known as Hogar de Ninas Madre Albertina (Mother Albertina home for girls). The home in Granada, Nicaragua, is the home to 18 girls who have entered either as a result of being abused by their families or carers, sent to work on the streets, or because their carers could not afford to support them. They are brought to the home by the social services, and nuns from the order Madre Albertina ensure that the girls can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. The immediate needs of the girls are basic; rice and beans (their stable diet 3 times a day), toiletries and occasionally shoes and books for school. Although the nuns do an amazing job, there is not enough room to house any other girls and the plan is to expand the home to house more girls. This is what I am fundraising for.
My director at Nice Images is the main UK fundraiser for the charity and 100% of any money donated will go directly towards this wonderful cause. Please donate, anything will do - a fiver would be great!
