We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to stop women dying from breast cancer.

Story

Hello!

I have set up this page on behalf of my father Trevor Chinn and his friend and colleague Grant Rogers who are currently walking from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign and also St.Lukes Hospice in Plymouth.

They set out on their adventure on Sunday 20/08/06 and have so far reached Cheddar Gorge (by Tuesday 29/08/06) averaging 20-25miles a day. Initally, they expected to take 6-8 weeks but now we think 8-10 weeks is going to be a more realistic time frame to walk the approx. 1300 miles!

So far we have managed to raise approx. £10,000.00 for the two charities but aim to get to £20,000.00. Trevor is Managing Director of Plymouth based scaffold firm LTC Specialist Scaffolding Ltd. and Grant is the firms top scaffolder - fundraising has been varied and the firms other employees have also been keen to help, taking part in a special scaffold challenge day, all donating a full days wage to the total. LTC also arranged a charity golfing day at a local country club where several teams of customers made donations to take part in the event. We also held a leaving party for Trevor and Grant at a local club which involved several local firms donating prizes for auction, live music and entertainment and that night alone raised approx. £5000 towards the total.

We are really pleased with what we have managed to achieve so far but we still want to raise alot more for these worthy causes! I would like to give a big thank-you in advance to anyone who makes a donation on Trevor and Grants behalf - every penny counts!

I also include links to the construction website Vertikal who have been keen in showing their support for Trevor and Grants efforts, featuring regular up-dates and photographs of their progress. I also include links to articles that were featured in our local newspaper the Evening Herald.
