I will be spending December in Thailand volunteering on a project which rescues endangered Asian elephants from being forced to work on the streets and gives them a home in the forest.
The Asian elephant is a highly endangered species, however many are forced to work long hours to generate revenue for their owners. The project I am participating in aims to create a new future for these elephants by supporting a community's efforts to return their elephants to live in the forest.

GVI is financially supporting a herd of 5 elephants. We are hoping that more elephants can enjoy this natural and healthy existence in the forest.
