UPDATE!
We completed the 3 peaks of Yorkshire challenge in just under 12 hours! Lots of pain felt by all! A MASSIVE THANKYOU to all who sponsored us! For evidence see 3 photos attached - one at the top of each peak!
Latest Fundraising!!
On 14th June 2009 - 3 days after our exams finish and 2 days after a potentially very messy end of year medics ball - we will be walking 25 miles in 12 hours up 3 large hills!! If you think we are clearly mad you are of course entirely right! So please show your support by donating and we'll make sure some pictures of us suitably exhausted are posted on here for you all to see!
Thank you!
Welcome to the KOP Warwick fundraising page!
KOP Warwick...
This is the first year that Warwick Medical School has become involved with KOP. We are all new to the project and very excited about our first two-week project to Kenya this summer.
The KOP project we will be supporting and working with this year is VIMA, a non-governmental organisation which offers support for HIV and AIDS orphans and vulnerable children, in the area of Kisumu in Western Kenya, through foster homes and carers; thus offering personal care in a safe, family environment.
A bit about KOP...In the last 8 years KOP has been involved in establishing a hospital, a health clinic, a primary and secondary school, two community/feeding centres and a support and rehabilitation centre for street children all in the Nyanza province in western Kenya.
Each year groups of medical students from around 10 different universities go to to work on the projects KOP supports. For more information please go to www.KOPafrica.org
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you feel you are able to donate anything at all we would be really grateful!Much Love, KOP Warwick xxx
