Knitting is something that everyone can do including you! Last year we raised over £6,000 for Cancer Research UK through the Knit the York wall challenge. With your help over 4700 scarves were knitted for this fantastic fundraising event from all over the world.

This year the challange is to knit the distance of the York race course to raise £10,000. We need 3334 scarves of 1.5 meters, 5 foot, in length to acheive this distance. You can knit in any colour and any pattern. The scarves will be sold on 22 October 2011 at the Marriott Hotel on the race course between 11am to 4pm to raise funds for the charity.

If you wish you can also knit items of clothing to be sold on the same day. This is really all about participating in any way you can to raise money for Cancer Research UK

The wool shop Ramshambles of York has joined forces with King Cole Wool to help us reach our fundraising target this year of £10,000.  Can you help? Choose your colour, collect your free pattern from Ramshambles, 46 Shambles, York, YO1 7LX. 01904 639500 and knit a scarf to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
