Story

This will be third year in a row we have subjected ourselves to CERTAIN PERIL over a daring 12 HOUR NIGHT ENDURANCE race in deepest darkest KENT! WIll our lights last the distance, will our bodies take the punishment, will the tea shop have enough cakes to sustain us.

The course is a 10-mile long, all off road, woodland track. A mix of climbs, long decents and technical switchbacks though the woods of Bedgebury. Last year the two of us rode 100 miles in the 12 hours.

In our first year there were 4 of us - only 2 surivied to return last year, but we hope to recruit more mad MBK'ers to boost the numbers again.

Currently the team consists of:

Rich: Gadget/tech mad. Ultralight bike no longer ultralight due to all the bolted on gadgets. Difficult to understand as often uses words like w00t and l33t. Has two computers in his bathroom!

Joe: The only person I know who has suffered an explosive decompression on a flat road.  Serious tea drinker - has to stop every 2 hours for cake and tea refuel. As such is adored by the cafe staff. Seems to have far too much energy left in the closing stages - must be all the sugar!

Stu: Easily the best biker here - like to go up hills very fast (annoying).  Annoying habbit of riding ahead and letting off 'steam' - maybe this 'jet' power is the secret of his speed?

Si: He comes from way oop North - and as such should be a fantastic MBK'er.  But he's not - he blames the South for making him soft.  However, he's determined and is now in an agressive training routine to prepare!

Kris and Bex: our very own support team. Last year they not only helped looked after us before and after the race but were also the only 'champagne party' in the entire camping field.
