London Walk to D'Feet MND · 18 April 2005

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

This year's Walk to D'Feet MND was a great success. We had 120+ walkers on our march from the Jubilee Wing at King's College Hospital to 10 Downing St (pictured), where we handed in some 20 accounts of MND written by patients and their carers. The three and a half mile walk, relatively straightforward on paper, was made significantly harder by the fact that it was a scorching 32 degrees outside! Fortunately there was a pub down the road for us to rehydrate...

It was great to see so many familiar faces and new friends, and everyone reported having a really good time. If you want to see more photos from the day, please visit:

As you can see, the JustGiving website has raised a phenomenal amount of money and we hope that if you're reading this you'll consider making an extra-generous donation to help us reach our target of £20,000.

All in all, a great success. We're already plotting ideas for next year, which will involve a lot more organisation on the day next time around, with marshalls, drink stops, maps, etc., and a few creative touches that have been suggested to us. A huge thank you to everyone that came along, a massive thank you to everyone that donated money or helped, and a humongous thank you to Simi Epstein and Louise Carter at MNDA Head Office for making it all happen.
