Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
On January 22nd, VSO will be sending my to volunteer in Bangladesh for 3 months as part of the International Citizen Service (ICS).
The ICS is a voluntary programme funded by DFID and led by VSO that enables young people who feel passionately about issues such as poverty reduction, gender equality, education, human rights and healthcare to do something to help.
I will be working alongside other VSO-ICS volunteers as well as local volunteers. The key issues we will be working on include health and hygiene, access to water and youth leadership.
A key part of the programme is engaging local people and encouraging active citizenship so that people are able to get involved and influence development in their own village, replicating activities that volunteers have been involved in.
Bangladesh suffers from widespread childhood malnutrition, and has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in the world. There is also a high incidence of preventable diseases, due to the lack of access to and information about sanitation, hygiene, nutrition and sexual health.
As part of my commitment to the programme, I have promised ot raise £800 for VSO-ICS in order to support their ongoing and future projects around the world.
This is your chance to have that impact. Please be generous and donate now!
