Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
I am raising £1200 to help a local NGO in Kampala, Uganda become self-sustaining in the next five years. Every £ counts and I am truly grateful for whatever you can give.
The local NGO runs a holistic HIV/AIDS outreach and treatment initiative involving a wide range of activities, including a savings and loans co-op, a medical clinic, a vocational training centre, and a youth centre.
I will be part of a team of 10 international graduate students visiting the village in July 2009. We will be working with the staff and management team to see how they can make thier vision of being self-sustaining come to fruition.
There is so much need in the world and my heart yearns to help everyone have at least the basics in life. I have chosen to start with this organization as it puts into action what I believe is the solution to poverty - building human capital.
