Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In memory of Meghna - Kiddiecoppers are raising money by cycling from London to Le Mans, 400miles in 4 days!

Meghna was a beautiful, special girl who loved life.     She was diagnosed with renal failure early on in her life and became one of the youngest children to have dialysis. As with all people with dialysis, the only option for a better quality of life is transplant. Fortunately Meghna's dad was a match and could donate one of his kidneys.

Unfortunately before this could happen, Meghna developed cancer at the age of 2; and endured radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She needed to be clear of cancer for 2 years before she could have a kidney transplant.

The doctors at Birmingham children’s Hospital and at Great Ormond Street eventually gave the go ahead for the transplant operation in September 2013.        Despite the brilliant effort of the doctors and nurses at the Children's Hospital, Meghna passed away from complications in the November, shortly after her 6th birthday.

During Meghna's treatments and various duration of stays in hospital, all the staff not only provided Meghna a safe and fun environment but they were also brilliant in the help and support that they gave to her parents.

The journey will start in Solihull where the cyclists will meet and travel by minibus to London. At the Greenwich Observatory there will be a team photo and the ride will begin!

The first day will see the fully supported team of 26 cyclists travel to Folkestone for first night.

Day two will start with the ferry crossing to Calais then on the bikes to Amiens.

Day three will be to Evreux then on to Le Mans for the final leg of the trip.

The team will return to the UK the next day

This is such a worthy cause so all donations are greatly appreciated - thank you in advance.
