Story
Dear Vision Africa Supporter,
You will have seen from the News that there is an increasing humanitarian crisis developing in Kenya and this is impacting many thousands of children and adults across the country, and in the Kibera slum area in particular.
Vision Africa is working to try to secure some hope for some of the children that have been impacted. Many in Kibera have been displaced from their homes and camping in Jamhuri Park. We have already been able to distribute clothes and food to these unfortunate people. From today, Jan 7th, and every day we will take in 20 children from this group into Riruta School... some 100 additional every week!
This will give the children a different and happy atmosphere, and we will have a counselling system where possible as some of these children have witnessed violent scenes and death of their loved ones. We may need more teachers, exercise books etc, and of course they will all get a free meal every day. It will all cost money.
In addition we may need to operate a similar scheme in Western province and we are currently assessing this.
Please help us if you can. This is an extraordinary time in Kenya's history and children are suffering as a result. We will give as much aid as we are able to for as long as necessary, but we need your help. Please give generously. Thank you.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Vision Africa Give A Child A Future will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
