This is it-I am going to do it!

I WILL COMPLETE A HALF MARATHON!

To be more exact I am doing the GREAT NORTH RUN on October 5th 2008!(Yes I will be out of my duvet at some unearthly hour!)

OK so whats between me and actually doing it...mmm...let me think...oh a couple of months training which is well under way and how about 13.1miles or 21kms from Newcastle to South Shields and raising a minimum of £350! Since when did I ever turn down a challenge!

I am running for an amazing charity called Maggie's Cancer Care Centres! The centres are a place where absolutely anyone affected by cancer can turn to for help. They are open to anyone-not just those diagnosed with cancer but a place for their families, friends and carers. They provide a totally free service and work in partnership with their local NHS trusts. Maggie's aims to give people the tools they need need to cope with the major upheaval cancer causes in their lives.They give information, psychological and emotional support and practical advice.They centres are all located in the grounds of major cancer treatment centres so people can drop by as and when they like.

At the moment there are centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunned, the Highlands, Fife and London with interim centres open in Oxford, south West Wales and Lanarkshire also in the planning are centres for Nottingham,  the North East and the Cotswolds.
