Hi,
Lately I am increasingly saddened, by what these days seems to be a daily event, looking in a newspaper, or turning on the TV, and seeing the photo of yet another brave young member of our armed forces that has been seriously injured or killed. Your political beliefs, or opinions on the rights and wrongs on what our armed forces are doing is not relevant! We are loosing to many of the best of British! Each one is someones son, daughter, husband or wife, father or mother, and their loss leaves an entire family devastated! These people need to know we support them, and we are proud of them. They are the best of the best!! There isn't a lot in Britain we can be proud of these day, but our armed forces have got to be the top of the list!
I've reached the point where I feel I need to show my support.
I have been a keen photographer for many years. My intention is to use a hobby I have a passion for to try to help in a small way. You might say it's just a drop in the ocean, but if you can get enough drops you soon have a bucket full! I can produce a high quality framed print of the lake district. The proceeds from the sale of these I am donating to 'Help for Heroes'.
I would like to thank John at The Parkside Hotel,Cleator Moor, for allowing me display photos for sale in the Hotel. So if your passing call in and have a look, and sample his fine food and beer. Also Lynn and George at the Lamplugh Tip for their help with fundraising and exhibiting photos(Great food)
Thanks also to Joanne at Scoffs cafe, Cleator Moor (best meat and potato pie on the planet!), also Mick at The Old Posting House, Deanscales (great food), also Colin and Steven at The Grove Court Hotel, Cleator, (seems to be a patern developing here! My photos seem to go into places with good food and beer! lol) and Bob at Whitehaven snooker club for exhibiting my photos for sale. Without their help and support I can't do this!
So whether you buy a photo to make a donation, or just make a donation using this site, or one of the other support charities, what ever you do...........don't just sit there, do something to show you care!
