Story
For some people losing weight is easy. For me, as many of you will know, it certainly isn't. For me, losing weight is as much of a challenge as running a marathon or climbing a mountain might be to somebody else. It’s hard!
But another thing you might have noticed is that I’m as stubborn as a mule. And when I finally make my mind up to do something, I do my damndest to make it happen. And I've decided that I am going to lose weight.
I started my diet at the beginning of February and it’s working. Slowly but surely I’m losing and have already noticed an improvement to my health. I haven’t set myself a precise goal but I’d like to lose 20 kilos if I can.
One of my friends, aware of my enthusiasm for supporting wildlife and environmental charities, suggested that I ask people to sponsor me in this challenge (thank you, Tamsin). I dithered about it for weeks before finally doing just that and have been really excited to watch the counter climb upwards every since!
Last time I raised money, I chose to support the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, an excellent charity that supports important work all around the world. This time I’ve chosen to fundraise for the World Land Trust. There's a summary to the left of this page and you can find out more about what they do at their website.
£25 will buy and protect an entire acre of land!
Please dig deep (and then a little bit deeper still) and sponsor me!
Thank you so much for your support, both in this fundraising endeavour and my personal weight loss challenge.
