Story
Liverpool 1/2 marathon - 27th March
Liverpool triathlon (sprint distance, I'm not totally mad!) - 26th June
Liverpool marathon - 9th October
right...so I'd rather not be doing any of this as my main motivation has been losing my mum to cancer in september. However - I will always be eternally grateful to Carla, mum's macmillan nurse, for the support, information and comfort she gave to mum (and me - taking the time to speak to me and help me make sense of what happened.)
I'm not a fast runner...I don't like getting water in my eyes, and my bike chain's a bit rusty...so of course entering the triathlon to start my little fundraising effort made perfect sense! since then, I've signed up for the 1/2 and full marathons in my adopted city (I DO NOT however sound scouse!)
Getting through these is going to be a challenge (especially as my training has begun with a 3 week physio induced ban from running...hmmmm) but frankly it's nothing to that faced by people with cancer or those who love and care for them. if i can help someone else benefit from the support of macmillan it will all be worth it...
as mum would say "courage mon brave"
