Story
Hi everyone,
To put this into a little context for you all the story is I am doing a sponsored sky dive on Saturday 22nd August for a friend I miss everyday. ******NOW SATURDAY 5th SEPTEMBER DUE TO FATAL SKY DIVE ACCIDENT ON PREVIOUS JUMP DATE******
On January 15th 2006 my friend Matt aged just 25 died of Sudden Adult Death syndrome. For those who have never heard of this syndrome before it is very much similar to infant cot death but instead affects adults. There is no warning, no cure and no real explination to why this happens to seemingly healthy people. This is a syndrome that can affect any of us at any time.
However with the use of EGC tests and Echo screenings most cardiac abnormalities can be diagnosed, patients helped and research collaborated to hopefully make sure less families have to suffer losing someone in such an inexplicable manner. Although EGC and Echo machines are not easily available within the NHS and are more often than not prioritsed less than everyday hospital equipment.
I'm hoping that you can donate/sponsor me what you are able to for my sky dive in memory of Matt. ALL the money raised will go towards the purchase of an EGC machine.
Three years on from Matts death the only comfort I have is knowing he lived his life to the full and exactly the reason why I have chosen to do a sponsored sky dive and raise money in his memory...as he wouldn't have done any less for me.
Thank you all so much for your support and donations.
If you would like to know any more details or want to make alternative arrangments for your donation please don't hesitate to contact me on 07595 350 388.
Love Katie
PS Miss you Matt xxxxxx
