Story
From Clapham to Kilimanjaro and BACK!
In February 2009 I swapped my zone 2 travel card for a flight to where I began my 19,000 feet climb to the ice-capped summit of Africa’s most famous mountain and reached THE SUMMIT! I would like to say THANK YOU to you all that have helped me raise over £5000 for Prostate UK; I couldn’t have done it without you.
I have spoken to Prostate UK and have been able to direct your donations to a specific RESEARCH PROJECT.The programme Dad and I have chosen is the 'Study of a prebiotic sugar which may help to reduce the damage caused to the lower bowel during pelvic radiotherapy for prostate malignancy'. Dad has a number of friends where the radiotherapy has caused problems and hope that your donations will help towards fulfilling this project. The project is due to start in April and the proposed end date is March 2012.
One very special person I can’t thank enough is Candice, we did it together and it was great to have her by my side. Thanks Candice.. And I certainly can’t forget my 9 team members and all the Kili crew! It was truly an incredible journey, and walk!!
Thank you all once again!
With lots of love
Kate
