Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I entered the British Indoor Rowing Championship http://www.concept2.co.uk/birc/ on October 26 and took the opportunity to raise much needed funds for two schools. It's not over yet though! Justgiving keep this page open till January for further donations.
Half the money raised will go to Redlands in Tower Hamlets (through Tower Hamlets Business Education Partnership www.thebp.co.uk) and the other half to support schools in Nachingwea in Tanzania (through Stapleford PCC). Redlands is an inner city primary school which Freshfields has been supporting since 1999. Nachingwea is a town in Southern Tanzania, twinned with Stapleford (near my home) and its schools are in great need of support. http://www.stapleford-nachingwea.org/
Training for the competition really paid off. I was aiming to use the 16 weeks training to get my time down from 7m10 to under 7m00. In fact I finished in 6:48.2, helped along by the terrific support of my sponsors. Many thanks to you all. The results will soon be on www.concept2.co.uk/birc/results.php
Now for the clever Gift Aid bit. Justgiving can only pay money to one charity. Stapleford PCC will receive the money, claim gift aid and then split all the donations and gift aid between the two causes. This funding route helps ensure that Gift Aid is available in full on your donation through justgiving.com. I'm enormously grateful to Stapleford PCC for the work they have done to make sure the Treasury pays up too.
