WELCOME! to my fundraising page - thank you for visiting and for making an impact for good.
I am so pleased that I found 3 victims who also wanted to complete this challenge in 2009! We're training well and really looking forward to it - we'll remember it for the rest of our lives.
If you are here through the blog link and want to sponsor one of my team members, scroll down and click on their names to go to their JustGiving sites. In any case, whomever you choose to sponsor, for this event it is the team total that counts as far as Oxfam and those we're going to help are concerned.
This challenge is to walk in a
4-man team a distance of
100k across the South Downs Way in
30 hours on 18th July - the climb across the route is the same as an
ascent and descent of Ben Nevis.
Anything you can sponsor makes a difference in the lives of the world's poorest people:
£50 can pay a trainee teacher's salary for one month in Kenya or care for a vulnerable child in an humanitarian or emergency situation.
£8 can buy 8 textbooks, giving children a brighter future.
£6 can buy school dinners for 100 children.
The team comprises:Stevie (Mr Pea) Pereira - Team Genius and (Ex) Trainer of Oxford Uni's Mansfield College Ladies Rowing Club
Jules (Lofty-not!) Clarke - The one who got us all into this mess and Communications
Cliff (Our view of Trailwalker) Allen - Timekeeper/Paceman and Pastor extraordinaire
Piers (High altitude) Rosslyn-Smith - Navigator and Mr Detail.
(Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Oxfam Trailwalker gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.)
