Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for "Judy's Extra Mile", my 63 mile sponsored walk for the Charity Help for Heroes, which I completed at Helles Barracks Catterick on 14th May 2010
When I set the target for this year's event at £5,000, I really thought that I would struggle to reach it,especially in view of the present ecconomic situation. With just under a month to go before my fund closes, I have almost doubled my original target and with money still coming in I am getting closer and closer to achieving the figure I raised last year.
If you don't already know what H4H does, go and look at their website www.helpforheroes.org.uk and see what has already been achieved in such a short time. Read about the Personnel Recovery Centres which are part of the new Army Recovery Capability, be inspired by the Battleback initiative, learn about Troop Aid and the many other projects both large and small. You will also see that Help for Heroes works alongside other Service Charities and it will make you realise that together, people just like us really can make a difference.
In just under three years the charity has raised in excess of £54million but more money is needed to provide the funding for the Individual Recovery Plans announced earlier this year.
As you can see, thanks to all the support I have received from all of you, I have nearly reached that magic figure of £10,000 once again, it just needs one final push to get there. It is not too late to donate, you still have up to 31st July, and with JustGiving donating is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate they will send your money directly to the charity and make sure that Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer so I raise more while cutting time and costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now - don't put it off - just hit that donate button.
Thanks to everyone who has already supported me, I am really grateful to you all.
