This fund has been established in honour of the life of Judith (we called her Jubilate!)
Judith was only in her 50's, when she was diagnosed as having stage 4 Ovarian Cancer.
Judith's life was spent giving unconditionally to meet any need that she identified for any of her many, many, good friends. As a daughter, sister, aunt, godmother or friend, Judith was a cheerful giver of her time, her money and her love!
In recognition of Judith’s commitment to others we have all agreed to set up the Jubilate Tribute Fund. The sole aim of the fund is to pay, with your help, for as many Marie Curie Nursing hours as possible.
Judith, like many others, wanted us to do anything we could to avoid her having to spend any time in hospital, and certainly not to die there. We managed to nurse Judith at home right up to her death on the 26th February 2010. We had terrific support from family and friends but still needed as much support as we could get from the Marie Curie Nursing Fund.
Many in this predicament need the assistance of the professional nurses provided by the Marie Curie Nursing Fund. Sadly there are simply not the funds to supply as many nurses as are required.
Every £20.00 raised by this fund will contribute another hour of nursing care in the home.
A first series of events is being organised to gain publicity, support, sponsorship and funding. We will post information as the arrangements for events are finalised.
