Story

Mark Ciamaricone, A great husband, father, friend and colleague. A true leader and inspiration to all who knew him.

Early December 2006 I spoke to Mark and said that running the London Marathon was my personal way of fighting with him in his battle against cancer. Sadly Mark passed away on 24th February 2007 and I dedicate my run to his memory.

The London Marathon is a run from East to West London over a distance of 26.2 miles. It takes place on April 22nd and will be televised on BBC1 so look out for me in my pink Refuge running vest with a picture of Mark on the front.

My chosen charity is Refuge who offered me a place to run the Marathon and I greatly appreciate your help to raise money for this very worthwhile cause:

More About Refuge

*In the UK 2 women are killed each week by a current or former partner

*in 90% of domestic violence incidents in families, children are in the same or next room, and in 50% of these cases, children are directly abused

*Domestic violence kills more 19-44 year old women than anything else.

*Refuge is self funding and it costs £10,000 a day to run the services needed to help women and children escape domestic violence.

If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you
