So, you came.
Those of you who know me will (between stifled
giggles) have by now realised that this is no small undertaking - in
three words,
baby got back. However, despite this literal ball-and-chain I am determined (and us Burches are always determined) to
win the marathon. Yep, I'm-a-gonna-win.
Why, you may ask. Well, despite the
money, girls and fame associated with winning the bloody marathon (hello?!) I will be raising money for
Sense, a charity that supports the deafblind, largely focusing on children.
My
chosen profession relies particularly on visual stimuli and I
personally couldn't imagine a worse situation than to be born without
or with limited use of my eyes and ears. So much of what I (and
everyone, yeah that's
you
buddy) take for granted wouldn't be possible without my baby blues n'
lugholes. Sense provide support not only for those who suffer but their
families, carers and the professionals who work with them, allowing
deafblind people to have choice in how they wish to live their lives.
Any money you give will help them to continue their life-changing work. For Example:
£7.50 could take a deafblind child sailing on a Sense holiday
£15 could pay for a tactile book to develop a child's sense of sight and touch
£50 could pay for a deafblind child's vital first assessment
£250 could kit out a house with sensory trails, allowing deafblind residents independance in their own home
Anyway, I've waffled on enough and you're very busy, but a bit of your hard-earned cash would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Jonny
Oh by the way, donating through justgiving is simple, fast and totally secure. It is
also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sense will
receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in
tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. How amazing is that!
