Story
Helloooo!
After 'warming up' with The Great North Run last September, I have now found myself with a place at the London Marathon 2010, so come April 25th ill be trying to drag myself round the 26 mile route! Places are very, very hard to get for the marathon so im told that I should feel "lucky" to have a place...not sure how "lucky" ill be feeling on the day though if my training is anything to go by - this is the ultimate challenge for me, but one that would be great to accomplish...so im definitely looking forward to it! I’ve curbed the beer and takeaways to give myself the best chance of making it around in one piece.
I am running the marathon in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research - a charity that, im sure most you will know is particularly close to my heart - and a huge part of the reason im still here today - therefore, I fully aim to give as much as I can back by urging you fine people to dig deep and donate generously to a very worthwhile charity. Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research relies solely on the generosity of people like yourself donating money in order to help treat children and adults who are affected with blood cancer - with your support, the charity can really push on and help research the disease further to help treat people battling the blood cancers and edge us closer to one day providing a cure! You really will be making a HUGE difference to people’s lives no matter how much you pledge!
I'll be trying my best to plug my marathon as much as possible by aiming to get my [not so] ugly mug on TV (local, national and worldwide), in newspapers and on other websites etc in order to raise as much money as possible - so keep your eyes peeled!
This JustGiving website is a very easy way of sponsoring - but if you would prefer to donate 'off-line' by means of a cheque, cash etc then please email me at: with details of how much you wish to pledge and ill keep it logged with my paper sponsorship form.
If any of you want to come to the Marathon in London on April 25th then please do - the more support, the merrier and bring a banner! - if not, then keep a look out on BBC1 for a pretty handsome fellow wearing a bright yellow jersey blitzing his way through the streets of London! (Sorry, no banana costume this time!)
Speech over, so please give as much as you can possibly spare and get sponsoring!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
