Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Between the 8th and 10th of June I'm going to be cycling from Chiswick via Alexandra Palace in London to Castle Donington in Derbyshire, joining a cast of musicians, industry types, metal fans and mates to raise money for Nordoff Robbins, Teenage Cancer Trust, and NSPCC's Childline.
Those that know me and follow me on Facebook will recognise that I'm fond of a tune, swinging a leg over a bike for a good cause and assaulting any hill that comes my way. But there are not many causes more important than the welfare of our children.
I made it last year, leading the Heavy Metal Truants into Donington Park, so I'm going to do it again and hoping for the same fine weather, unlike some of the conditions we've ben training in during recent months!
Any such hardship pales into insignificance when you meet teenage cancer survivors and realise that Teenage Cancer Trust can only afford to support half of the people that need it. When they do the difference they make is incredible.
I'll be at the Download Festival on my 58th birthday so I'll also be donating my birthday present equivalent in cash and I think the causes are worth a few of your hard-earned pounds too.
So please give anything you can afford and I'll do the blood, sweat, tears and potential road rash thing in exchange. I even promise to record the journey using a clever wireless telephone and mount the pictures on the interweb.
