Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having completed the Kandahar Airfield Half Marathon in Afghanistan in conjunction with the Great North Run in Sep 2011, I thought it was about time that I completed the real thing! Although the distance is the same, the terrain, altitude and running conditions are very different and not necesssarily easier in the UK!

My sister also completed the GNR in 2011 - and in actual Tyneside! She had a baby in April this year and has now been cleared by her doctor to re-start running. My wife and I have also had a baby at the end of May - but I didnt need the doctor to sign me off!! We are training partners and have just started our training runs together. Well, 2 miles is a start!!!

We will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care which is the chosen charity of Tombola (on-line gaming) where my sister works. We aim to raise £200 each, which will be kindly matched by Tombola.
