Story
The cause is particularly close to my heart, my mother Hilary lost her fight against a brain tumour in October 2008.
· Total: 180 miles in 2 days
· Day 2: 100 miles & a total ascent of 1800m (the equivalent of climbing Mont Ventoux)
· All money raised by participants will fund vital research to genetically profile tumours
Last August, Mel Jaggard, a colleague in our Customer Development team, sadly passed away. Mel was a much loved member of our Unilever community and her battle with cancer was an inspiration to all who knew her.
On Friday 16th May, 50 colleagues from Unilever will be cycling over two days, from the Leatherhead HQ to Mel’s home town of Gilwern in South Wales.
The aim of the challenge is to raise as much money as possible for Get A Head – a charitable trust dedicated to fighting head and neck cancer. The money raised (target £50K) will help fund vital research to genetically profile tumours at The Royal Marsden for the next 4 years. This is to help understand the genetic pathways of ACC to enable them to find targets and blockers for it.
Your help and support is hugely appreciated.
