Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. Many of you were kind enough to sponsor my first full Marathon on Tresco a couple of years back. Since then I have run two more Marathons at Loch Ness and Edinburgh for which I did not seek any external sponsorship as I appreciate that you probably receive and support many such requests.
This time it's a bit different though....2 of us are turning 60 in April and to mark the occasion have decided to walk from Lands End to John O'Groats. We are not doing it the sissy Ian Botham way walking on roads along the shortest route. We will be going cross country wherever possible using National Trails such as Offa's Dyke and the West Highland Way.When circumstances permit we will stay in pubs or Youth Hostels but otherwise will pitch tent and sleep wherever we must. Our route will be around 1200 miles long and take at least 2 months out of our lives. So please dig deep and support the Precious Lives campaign. At present there is no hospice for children in Cornwall and parents have to travel to Devon or Bristol with their children to receive the specialist respite care provided by Children's Hospice South West. This obviously adds further stress at an already very difficult time. The objective of the Precious Lives campaign is to create such a hospice and land has already been acquired near St. Austell but funds are now required to build and equip the resource.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Children's Hospice South West gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please sponsor us now! All of your donations will go directly to Precious Lives and we will be covering our expenses ourselves.
