Story
I am taking the challenge of cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats in June. That will be 15 days cycling to cover 1000 miles. Yes, 1000 miles from the cliffs of Cornwall to the hills of the Highlands, and hopefully some flat bits in between. And for those who have asked, it's cycling ... on a pushbike NOT my Harley!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I will be raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign during this journey, so please dig deep and sponsor me online. Some friends and colleagues have already been kind enough to sponsor me for £100 each. Thank you so much for your generosity - both from me and from the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.
By the end of May (after only two weeks) we reached £1300 sponsorship. With just over a week to go before the start, I am over half way to my target of £2000 sponsorship. So please help as much as you can.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor as Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign will receive your money faster. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. If you prefer to use traditional sponsorship methods, I also have some sponsor sheets.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
John
PS For those who have been asking about tracking my progress during the event, I have set up a blog that I plan to keep up-to-date. I am describing the training progress on this currently, and i have asked a friend to maintain the blog while I am cycling in June. If you're interested, this is my LEJOG blog.
PPS I successfully completed the ride in June - 1074 miles in 15 dayes. Quite a slog on the wetter days, but a great way to see lots of Great Britain when the sun was out (all too briefly). Two goals achieved - Lejog completed and over £2000 raised for the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign. The Justgiving site will remain here until August, so please continue to be generous if you can.
Thanks
John
