Story

Thanks for reading...

I'm riding London to Paris starting 21st July 2016 with my sister (and a whole bunch of other people). It's going to take 3 days, in the order of: 60 miles, 68 miles, 45 miles.

It would be great if you could help raise money for my chosen charity, Basic Needs.

BasicNeeds is an international NGO working to improve the lives of people living with mental illness and epilepsy. Globally, 700 million people are estimated to have a mental disorder, and over a billion are likely to experience one in their lifetime. Currently 80% of those suffering from mental illness live in low- and middle-income countries and only 10-20% of these people receive any form of treatment.

By working in partnership with local partners and people, BasicNeeds has built an effective model for recovery and sustained good mental health that uses meaningful work and community support, as well as treatment, to help those living with mental illness in resource-poor settings.

Since BasicNeeds’ foundation in 2000, over 657,000 people have benefitted from their programmes globally.
