Story

Thank you for visiting our Lands End to John O'Groats fundraising page. The challenge is to undertake 1000 miles of cycling from the sunny beaches of Cornwall all the way up to the misty mountains of Scotland in just over 2 weeks  - this will mean riding an average of 70 miles (about 7/8 hours in the saddle) every day for 15 days !

The money raised will go towards Naomi House Childrens Hospice in Winchester.   Naomi House is a purpose built children’s hospice, providing palliative care including respite, terminal and bereavement support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.  Naomi House offers one to one care and attention to over 300 families across Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.

Naomi House receives less than 10% government funding and so therefore rely on the generosity of the community to raise £2.5 million a year to keep the hospice open.  The £12 million Jacksplace appeal was launched last year, to help build and run the new hospice for teenagers and young people, this is due to be completed in Autumn 2009.

We're covering all the costs of accomodation and kit ourselves so that every penny will go to our charities. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us - if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

It would be really great if you could spare a few pounds to sponsor us and it will help spur us on through the journey and make the sore bottoms all worth it !!

Thank you

We are also raising money for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust see www.justgiving.com/jolyonandjo for more details.
