We work on strengthening education to build a Sierra Leone free from poverty

Story

On Friday 28th August we are setting out from Lands End on a trip that will take 15 days and cover well over a thousand miles. We have been training together for several months now, so hopefully our fitness, stamina and navigation skills are up to scratch! The main reason we are taking up this crazy challenge is to raise money for an amazing charity called EducAid, which provides education in Sierra Leone, a country struggling to recover after a devastating civil war, which has left countless children orphaned. Sierra Leone is the country with the highest rate of infant mortality, where 1 in 4 children don’t live to see their fifth birthday. Medical treatment is un-accessible to the poor, resulting in an alarming number of children dying due to preventable diseases such as malaria, diarrhoea and malnutrition. EducAid runs four schools in different parts of Sierra Leone, educating around a thousand children. It aims to educate children, teaching against the corruption which plagues the country, helping Sierra Leone to move forward.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much
