On 14 April I will be tackling my first full marathon by taking part in the Brighton Marathon as part of Team Martin House (which may consist of just me for this one!). As those who know me will testify, 2 years ago I could barely waddle never mind run, so to be running a marathon is quite a nice feeling!

As always, I will be raising money for Martin House Children's Hospice, an amazing charity who do so much great work in the Yorkshire region.

Martin House care for Children and Young People with progressive life limiting illnesses, and provides support to their families. They are based in a purpose built hospice in Boston Spa, Wetherby and care for children and young people from throughout the Yorkshire region.

The aim of Martin House is to provide family led care for children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. It is a place where children, young people and their families can go to stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help. It is a place of love and understanding, a peaceful place but one that can also have a lively, friendly atmosphere full of fun and laughter, where children and their families can enjoy the best quality of life.

I have funded the marathon myself, so all the money that I raise will go direct to Martin House to assist them with providing the amazing care!
