On Sunday 23rd April 2006, I will be running the Flora London Marathon for Whizz-kidz, a charity that helps disabled children and young people to enjoy an independent life. They are operating a number of places in this years event to help them raise enough money to continue their work.
To ensure that I fill one of the charity's places, they need a guaranteed fundraising effort of £1500 from each competitor, but I aim to far exceed this.
I have donated £100 to enter this event and hope to keep adding to this total in the coming months thanks to the generosity of people like you. Obviously, donate what you can afford, but you can also help in other ways. For example, does the company you work for have an allocated amount for charity each year that they could donate, or perhaps they have a corporate sponsorship scheme for such events, where I could have their logo on my running vest? Also, they may have something they could donate for an auction or competition prize (which you might be able to win back!!), so please ask around and see what they can do.
I'll do a deal. I'll pound the streets if you send the pounds (I may let them use that for future campaigns!!) and for those that know me, you'll be paying to guarantee I suffer!!
Thanks
James
