Story
With exams coming up soon what better time to decide I want to run a half-marathon!
‘Run to the Beat’ will take place on Sunday 27th September 2009, in Greenwich (starting at the O2). By then I’ll be hoping to raise at least £250 for FCID. Anyone that wants to watch me run (or more likely crawl) across the finish line is welcome to come, anyone who wants to run with me is even more J
I’m probably mad, since going from a 4 mile run to a 13.1 mile run is going to be extremely hard work, but it’ll be great exercise and above all it’s for charity! I’ll be running in aid of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID), a baby charity aiming to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and promote infant health. When I was younger, I stopped breathing, and a charity like FSID gave my parents a device to detect my breathing motions. When I stopped breathing it was this (and my mum) that kept me alive. They cost around £300-£400 each and it was extremely generous of the charity to lend one to us. I feel that it is time I returned the favour!
Remember people, it’s for charity. With your support the hardships of a cot death need not be such a common thing, so please please please donate as much as you can, be it a penny, a quid, or a tenner!
