Story
I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
I have entered race for life many times before, starting after my amazing Dad beat cancer. Like many people I have friends and family that have been diagnosed with this terrible illness. This year I will be racing for me too.
In September last year at the age of 44, I was diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer. I have had 4 chemotherapy sessions and bowel surgery. I have liver surgery booked for April and more chemotherapy to come after that. I should have about 7 weeks after the surgery to get fit enough to walk the Race for Life course, and who knows, maybe even jog a little!
I will be doing the race with my gorgeous 10 year old daughter Lucy and my wonderful Mum. These two fantastic people, along with John and Sam, the rest of my family, friends, neighbours and the caring community of Rode, have been amazing in supporting and inspiring me. THANK YOU EVERYONE.
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
