Story
Great Ormond Street Hospital - Inca Trek 15-24 November 2008
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
So what am I doing and why?
Earlier this year, just before his first birthday, our son Elliot underwent open heart surgery at GOSH to mend a significant hole in his heart. To celebrate the success of Elliot's operation and his full recovery, later this year I am going to take part in a fundraising trek organised by the GOSH children's charity.
This challenging trek will take me on high remote mountain trails, taking in such sights as 'Dead Woman's Pass'(!) at 4200m, ending at the Lost City of the Inca's, Machu Picchu. We'll be walking at altitude for between 5 and 12 hours a day for 4 days and camping overnight, hopefully on a flat bit.... And there's a couple of days acclimatising beforehand, doing some shorter walks.
Elliot has been helping me with my training - over the summer I have been carrying him up and down the Chiltern Hills (see opposite).
If you would like to make a donation to the GOSH children's charity, and help me meet my fundraising target, please click on the link on this page.
Barney and I have made a donation sufficient to cover the cost of the trek such that any donation you are able to make will go directly to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you
