Story

The Ison Harrison team are taking part in the Leeds Half Marathon Corporate Relay on May 11th to raise funds to support the fantastic work that is carried out from all those involved at the Leeds Children's Charity.

For well over 100 years, the Leeds Children's Charity has been raising funds for disadvantaged children to provide free residential respite, enabling the children to have a holiday away from their worries at home. Children suffering from poverty, neglect, abuse, learning difficulties, illness or young carers themselves, get the chance to visit the seaside, make friends and have a holiday to remember.

The charity has provided nearly 58,000 disadvantaged children with a week's holiday at their purpose built holiday centre in Silverdale on the Lancashire coast near Morecambe. At the centre they are cared for by staff and a range of indoor and outdoor activities are organised to provide the children with a fun-filled, educational experience. Development of the children's personal and interpersonal skills through team building exercises makes a huge impact to their self-esteem and confidence which allows them to cope better with their difficult situations at home.

In order for the charity to continue with its fantastic work with disadvantaged children in the city of Leeds, we would welcome donations for our upcoming Corporate relay to support a cause that makes such a significant impact to so many lives.
