Story
Hi
I would love your support
I'm walking the Inca Trail in November 2007 in support of Diabetes UK
I am doing the walk with my cousin because this year, we are both 50 years young and I want to do something worthwhile!
Three main reasons:-
1. Sheona, my youngest daughter was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 14 and now injects insulin 4 times a day - she never complains but oh how I wish there was an easier way for her. She has just graduated from university, works part-time and socially, lives life to the full - I am so proud of her and want to make her life (and others) as a diabetic better in the future.
2. In memory of a great woman from Halkirk, Caithness, Bunty Mitchell - a close family friend and the first diabetic I met (I was always fascinated by the huge needles she had to use back in the 60's!). Bunty had a great community spirit, always knew what was going on in our village and most importantly, always had an open door and big heart. She loved whist drives, coffee morning and country dancing and never complained about her diabetes. Bunty died, aged 77, in August last year.
3. For me! This is a personal goal for me and I am really looking forward to the challenge. All goals in life can be achieved! - check out one of my favourite programmes - I believed in Roots Shoots Fruits so much I became a Licensed Facilitator! www.rootsshootsfruits.com / and of course, my own website! www.imacoaching.com
Thanks so much for your donation - I will have photos to put up onto my website for you to follow my steps. Any donation will be greatly appreciated for this great cause.
Diabetes UK is a great charity who you can help to carry on their fantastic work, and to show your support for my walking challenge by making a secure on-line donation using your credit or debit card.
Kind Regards
Isobel
