In 2011 Charlie failed to complete Ironman Wales. Too slow on the bike. Only just, but he missed the cut-off. So he's seeking revenge.
He's back in Tenby in 2012 - for the 2.4 mile sea swim, 112 mile bike & full 26.2 mile marathon - and this time will be trying to raise money for the RNLI.
But, just to make it more interesting, he's doing it as the culmination of a slightly longer journey. Kate and Charlie are attempting the "grand slam" of Ironman 70.3 UK (half the distance, around Exmoor), followed by Ironman UK (full distance, Bolton), followed by Ironman 70.3 Ireland, and then Ironman Wales - "The Ultimate IRONMAN Endurance Test?"
That's a total of 421.8 miles each. (Oh, and as a warm-up, there's the London marathon as well..)
Please join in this craziness - albeit vicariously - by sponsoring us. Give a HUGE amount in one go; or drip feed smaller amounts on a race-by-race basis.
It's up to you, but please give something - the RNLI deserve it.
