Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am competing in the Ironman UK 2007 endurance triathlon on August 19th at Sherborne Castle, Dorset. This is a 2.4 mile (3.8km) lake swim followed by a 112 mile (180km) cycle ride and then run a marathon 26.2 miles (42.2km) with a 17 hour time limit and other time limits per each discipline.

Guess my time
When you sponsor me if you put the time you think I will finish the event in the comments area and the closest person will win £10 that I will donate. Only one guess per person and will also include non-online entries.
As a rough guide I did a half ironman distance triathlon last year in 6 hours 13 minutes, however this was in a different part of the country. Also when doubling a race distance you can not generally just double the time you tend to need to add an additional amount of time.

I will also be taking part in other running and triathlon events in the build up to this event.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
