Story

Thank you for considering giving to this project.

Iona School in Nottingham (Charity No 516999) offers Steiner Waldorf education for children from 3 up to 11 years.

The school is asking for your support to buy the materials needed to build a shelter in the School grounds. This would provide a vital sheltered space for use as an outdoor classroom, to house workshops and as the base-space for outdoor events. It could also help generate income to support the work of the school.

The project is already being supported by Nottingham Trent University, whose architecture students will do much of the building work and gain valuable hands-on experience. Also supporting with their professional services are GT Construction, 2hD Architects and Price and Myers Engineers.
Your donation would go towards the cost of materials for the structure- the last vital piece to make the project possible!
The experience gained in raising this shelter could be the start of other self-build projects at the school, which would further enrich the children's experience and education.
Thank you for taking time to find out about this project. Please now consider making a donation to help make this exciting project happen- your support would be very gratefully received.

Iona School specializes in pressure-free primary education, based on the Steiner Waldorf curriculum. For 22 years we've been offering a real choice to parents and children who feel they need an alternative to the mainstream system. We are the only school in Nottingham to offer an education free of SATs, testing, or grades, allowing children to retain their natural love of learning.
