Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you may know that last year I made a piece of jewellery to raise money for Oxfam for International Women's Day. This year I am raising money for Cancer Research UK (absolutely100% of the proceeds go to the charity), because two very dear friends of mine have passed away from this rampant disease in the last year and half, as well as a cousin of mine 10 years ago. And sadly, many of us have been affected by this disease either directly or indirectly. I want to raise awareness of this and I wish to help raise funds for the research that is being done in order to combat cancer.
I’ll be officially launching the fundraising campaign on International Women’s Day (Saturday 8 March) at the Penny Fielding Gallery in Walthamstow Village (34 Orford Rd, London E17 9NJ) from 13.30 to 18.00. The campaign will end on Mother’s Day on the 30 March when the winner will be drawn.
How it works
A mere £2 to help Cancer Research UK will also give you a chance to win my necklace – a great gift for yourself or that special lady in your life!
Multiple entries are great too, so for every £2 you donate, I will enter your name!
When you enter your donation please BE SURE TO CLICK THE BOX THAT ALLOWS ME TO SEE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS so that I can contact you if you win (if you are concerned about it appearing here on the site, please email me directly at ilana@ilana-design.co.uk).
THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED HERE AND ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA ON 30 MARCH 2014!
Necklace details
The Serpent Cocktail necklace is made of silver with the ‘Serpent’ part flattened and textured with hammering and then oxidised. I then emeried back the surface to bring out the silver in the elevated parts. The S-clasp closure was made in the same way. The Serpent part measures approximately W80mm x 60mm and hangs on a chain that adjusts in length from approximately a 6 inch hang to an 8 inch hang (shortest length of the chain is 6 inches from the point behind the neck to where it attaches to the Serpent). The additional adjustable chain is handmade and oxidised.
