Story
Cometh the hour, cometh the 'Ice-Man'!! Or so I'm hoping.
Summer in Antarctica? How cold can it be I thought?
Skiing all the way from the coast to the South Pole? How far can it be I thought?
Dragging all my kit and supplies in a sledge? How hard can that be I thought?
A little research later and I had the answers: not good!
-30c in the summer; 934km from the coast to the Pole; and from the training I've had to do as evidenced in the photo, the sledge dragging will be very difficult indeed.
BUT, I'm raising money for a great charity and what we raise will go a long way to helping the treatment of numerous kids' diseases and medical conditions. This knowledge will definitely inspire me for a long way...hopefully all 934km to the South Pole!! The cost of the expedition has already been taken care of, so that from the outset we can concentrate on raising as much money for SPARKS as possible.
Please be as generous as you can - everything we raise will have a meaningful impact. Thank you for your support.
